At the generous invitation of His Royal Highness, Prince Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange, the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) held a Prize Day event on 30 October 2009 in Delft, The Netherlands.

The Prize attended the fifty-second session of United Nations' Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) which was held in Vienna, Austria from 8 to 12 June, 2009.
The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water was the Platinum Sponsor for the European Desalination Society's Conference and Exhibition on Desalination for The Environment.
The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water was the Gold Sponsor for the 2009 Groundwater Summit which took place in Tucson, Arizona from 19-23 April 2009.
