PSIPW was represented at COP28 by its 2014 Creativity Prize laureate Justin Sheffield, head of the University of Southampton's School of Geography and Environmental Science. Professor Sheffield, as a party-level delegate, advised COP on “addressing the challenge of drought under climate change in water scarce and data scarce regions.”

On November 21, 2023, Dion passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio/US, at the age of 58. In addition to being a scientist, teacher, and author, Dion was a dedicated husband to Paula and a loving father to his daughters Stella and Marianna. Dion's impactful life transcended his role as a university professor; it was a global scientist dedicated to advancing water science and engineering. Through his extensive travels, he not only shared knowledge but also made significant contributions to the international landscape of water science, leaving an indelible mark on the field.
The Third Space4Water Stakeholder Meeting took place from 24-25 October 2023 at the United Nations Office at Vienna (VIC), bringing togther porfessionals from around the world working with space technology for water resources management and protection.
PSIPW supported leading scientists and students at the 4th International Conference on Risk Assessment of Pharmaceuticals in the Environment (ICRAPHE 4), which was held in Barcelona from 9 to 10 October 2023.
PSIPW was the platinum sponsor of the 18th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST2023), which was held in Athens, Greece from 1-4 September 2023. PSIPW laureates were also instrumental in the 2nd UrbanWaterSECURITY Academy, which was held concurrently with the conference.
