Due to COVID-19, the 9th biennial ICWRAE took advantage of the possibilities presented by the virtual platform to hold a special edition of the conference, focusing on winners of the prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water, past and present, from the 1st Award in 2004 until the 9th Award in 2020.
The 9th Awards Ceremony of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Monday, 22 March 2021. This virtual event was held in conjunction with the “High-Level Meeting of the Water-Related Goals and Targets of the 2030 Agenda” which was held virtually at the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) have renewed their long-standing agreement to promote the use of space-based technology for better water resource management.
The Prize Council Chairman Dr. Badran Al-Omar, under the direction of PSIPW President HRH Prince Khalid Bin Sultan, announced the winners for the 9th Award (2020) of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW).
