The Prize was represented by PSIPW General Secretary Dr. Abdulmalek A. Al Alsheikh who participated in the High Level Panel that openred the Conference on Sunday, where he joined the Egyptian Minister of Water, ESQUA Director of Sustainable Development, and a representative from the Global Water Partership.

He was also called upon to address the following questions:

[1] Can the future Arab water requirements be met through innovations and investments within the Arab water and food sector and can self-sufficiency ever be achieved?

[2] What are the opportunities for specific cooperation and coordination of policies in the Arab water sector?

[3] Which role do regional, pan-Arab and international networks and cooperation platforms play in solving water management issues?

Dr. Abdulmalek was also asked to speak about the Prize and its current 6th Award.

The Conference also hosted a number of workshops and international meetings for Arab-level water organizations.
