Prof. Hisham Eltouny acceptence speach
Prof. Hisham Ettouney is a Professor of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University, Kuwait, since 1988. Also, he served as an assistant professor of chemical engineering at the chemical engineering departments in King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, and the University of New Hampshire, USA. He received his P.hD. in Chemical Engineering from MIT, USA in 1983 and B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt in 1975. His teaching experience includes several courses on undergraduate and graduate levels; i.e., desalination, unit operations, mass transfer, transport phenomena, reactor design, membrane technology, and wastewater treatment. His research is in the areas of desalination, energy storage, evaporative cooling, and membrane separation. He has published more than 80 papers in the above fields. Also he has 50 presentations in international conferences. He is the co-author of the textbook on fundamentals of seawater desalination, Elsevier, 2002. Other activities include supervision of M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis studies, conducting sponsored research, field consultation, instructing intensive training courses for engineers and technicians, review of research articles and projects, and departmental committee duties.
